{"id":192,"date":"2009-03-13T16:43:48","date_gmt":"2009-03-13T09:43:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/adityo.blog.binusian.org\/?p=192"},"modified":"2009-04-02T10:55:28","modified_gmt":"2009-04-02T03:55:28","slug":"how-to-create-mysql-tunneling-on-zimbra-using-putty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/adityo.blog.binusian.org\/?p=192","title":{"rendered":"How to create mysql tunneling on Zimbra using putty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>What is Tunneling ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tunneling, also known as &#8220;port forwarding,&#8221; is the transmission of data intended for use only within a private, usually corporate network through a public network in such a way that the <a class=\"inline\" href=\"http:\/\/searchnetworking.techtarget.com\/sDefinition\/0,,sid7_gci212924,00.html\">routing<\/a> <a class=\"inline\" href=\"http:\/\/searchnetworking.techtarget.com\/sDefinition\/0,,sid7_gci212665,00.html\">node<\/a>s in the public network are unaware that the transmission is part of a private network<\/p>\n<p>Okay the main reason why i want to do a mysql tunneling from zimbra is simply because i want to remotely access the mysql db on zimbra mail server, first i try to search how to install phpmyadmin on zimbra but it seems that we need to set virtual domain\u00a0 on \/opt\/zimbra\/httpd-2.2.8\/conf\/httpd.conf\u00a0 then upload the phpmyadmin on the virtual domain docoment root and set the port . it seems a long way for me :).\u00a0 So i tried to find another way i have heard about mysql tunneling before but how it is implemented i really don&#8217;t know so here is the step to create an msyql tunneling on your zimbra sevrer to your local PC<\/p>\n<p>Requirement:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zimbra.com\/forums\/installation\/8726-centos-5-install-guide.html\" target=\"_blank\">Zimbra<\/a> server<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/the.earth.li\/~sgtatham\/putty\/0.60\/x86\/putty.exe\" target=\"_blank\">Putty<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/heidisql.googlecode.com\/files\/HeidiSQL_3.2_Setup.exe\" target=\"_blank\">HeidiSQL <\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Setup<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You need to have putty first you can download it <a href=\"http:\/\/the.earth.li\/~sgtatham\/putty\/0.60\/x86\/putty.exe\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then start use your putty, click your server session that already saved or type it on the Hostname pick SSH connection<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-193\" title=\"putty1\" src=\"http:\/\/adityo.blog.binusian.org\/files\/2009\/03\/putty1.png\" alt=\"putty1\" width=\"456\" height=\"435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/adityo.blog.binusian.org\/files\/2009\/03\/putty1.png 456w, https:\/\/adityo.blog.binusian.org\/files\/2009\/03\/putty1-300x286.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 456px) 100vw, 456px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then load your saved session<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-194\" title=\"putty2\" src=\"http:\/\/adityo.blog.binusian.org\/files\/2009\/03\/putty2.png\" alt=\"putty2\" width=\"456\" height=\"435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/adityo.blog.binusian.org\/files\/2009\/03\/putty2.png 456w, https:\/\/adityo.blog.binusian.org\/files\/2009\/03\/putty2-300x286.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 456px) 100vw, 456px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now we need to set the tunneling you can go to Connection -&gt; SSH -&gt; Tunnels<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-195\" title=\"putty3\" src=\"http:\/\/adityo.blog.binusian.org\/files\/2009\/03\/putty3.png\" alt=\"putty3\" width=\"456\" height=\"435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/adityo.blog.binusian.org\/files\/2009\/03\/putty3.png 456w, https:\/\/adityo.blog.binusian.org\/files\/2009\/03\/putty3-300x286.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 456px) 100vw, 456px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now we need to insert the Source port and Destination ,<\/p>\n<p>Source port is the local port that we will use to connect our mysql admin agent int his tutorial i use <a href=\"http:\/\/heidisql.googlecode.com\/files\/HeidiSQL_3.2_Setup.exe\" target=\"_blank\">HeidiSQL <\/a>on this tutorial i will use port 9998<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Desitination&#8221; is the address and port of your actual MySQL Server. But since your SSH connection will be considered &#8220;local&#8221; to your MySQL Server, you should use either &#8220;127.0.0.1&#8221; or &#8220;localhost&#8221; depending on what works best.
