Then i tried to checked the server httpd.conf on \/usr\/local\/apache\/conf\/httpd.conf it seem that my nagios conf path( Include &quot;\/usr\/local\/apache\/conf.d\/nagios.conf\/httpd.conf&quot;)&nbsp; has been deleted , then i tried to search nagios.conf httpd.conf also has bee changes from \/usr\/local\/apache\/conf.d\/nagios.conf\/httpd.conf to \/usr\/local\/apache.backup\/conf.d\/nagios.conf\/httpd.conf. Then i tried to ask the CPANEL support, they said<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><font><font size=\"2\">In order to save changes to the httpd.conf file after manually adding entries, you should run the following command:&nbsp; <\/font><\/font><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><font><font size=\"2\">\/usr\/local\/cpanel\/bin\/apache_conf_distiller &#8211;update&nbsp; <\/font><\/font><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><font><font size=\"2\">Otherwise, cPanel will overwrite the changes.<\/font><\/font><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><font><font size=\"2\">How come my httpd.conf changes ?<\/font><\/font><\/em><font><font size=\"2\"> , they said this:<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><font><font size=\"2\">In general, this happens anytime cPanel uses:&nbsp; <\/font><\/font><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><font><font size=\"2\">\/scripts\/rebuildhttpdconf&nbsp; <\/font><\/font><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><font><font size=\"2\">This is used whenever new accounts are created, add-on\/parked domains are added, or anytime cPanel is required to make changes to the httpd.conf file <\/font><\/font><br \/>\n<font><font size=\"2\"> By using:&nbsp; <\/font><\/font><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><font><font size=\"2\">\/usr\/local\/cpanel\/bin\/apache_conf_distiller &#8211;update&nbsp; <\/font><\/font><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><font><font size=\"2\">It saves the changes, so that when the httpd.conf file is rebuilt, the changes are preserved.<\/font><\/font><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><font><font size=\"2\">Okay , so if you make any custom changes on the cpanel httpd.conf <\/font><\/font><font><font size=\"2\">on \/usr\/local\/apache\/conf\/httpd.conf you need to run . <\/font><\/font><font><font size=\"2\">\/usr\/local\/cpanel\/bin\/apache_conf_distiller &#8211;update after that so it will be save by cpanel configuration<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;How to make cpanel save our custom httpd.conf configuration Yesterday i just found out that my nagios website on my cpanel server was off, i cannot access the nagios site.
